As I begin to write another Yamnuska Calendar Contest Sponsorship blog post, I thought that I’d like to make this one a little different from the others!
Adored Beast Apothecary IS a generous sponsor of our calendar contest, but instead of just giving a brief company bio I wanted to share one of their new products that I believe is going to help so many of our companion dogs. They’ve also got a crazy-amazing project in honour of Mother Earth I want to tell you about.

About Adored Beast Apothecary
Founder Julie Anne Lee, DCH created Adored Beast after decades of experience in holistic pet care. Julie Anne’s journey began as a Veterinary Technician, but soon she was pulled in the direction of homeopathy and began her studies with some of the world’s most renowned homeopaths.
Julie Anne used her years of experience and her newfound knowledge to develop simple and easy-to-follow products for cats, dogs, and horses.
Adored Beast products address core issues, support healing, and aid in preventing a recurrence.
The Myco-Biome Forest Path Project
Just this past week, Julie Anne revealed a new product and her Forest Path Project to the world. We’ll talk a bit more about the product later, but first, let me tell you about this one of a kind project.
Mother Nature provides us with everything we need to survive as humans. Unfortunately, we don’t always appreciate or respect her for these offerings.
One example of how we exploit Mother Nature is through deforestation and how we use trees as a commodity.
Fortunately, today we make an attempt to reforest these areas we’ve destroyed. But unfortunately, we can’t replace the ancient wisdom, the thousands of microorganisms, plants, and animals that perish along with the clear cutting of trees.
Julie Anne decided that we can do better.
Through the Myco-Biome Forest Path Project, Julie Anne has begun to acquire forests in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick Canada with the intention of replicating an old growth forest ecosystem in forests that have been destroyed for their lumber.
Along with this regrowth, the microorganisms like medicinal mushrooms and other plants will return and will be harvested in a responsible, respectful, and sustainable manner – leaving the trees and animals intact to grow old once again.
As Julie Anne searched for a supplier for a new medicinal mushroom product she wanted to share with the world, she realized that not many suppliers were growing mushrooms in a manner that she was ok with.
So, she decided to grow her own.
I’m happy to say that Adored Beasts’ latest creation; Myco-Biome Turkey Tail Mushroom Extract, is now available to pet parents everywhere.

Many natural health supplements are unable to legally declare their health benefits as no one is willing to fund the research required to make such claims. Since a company cannot patent nature, other companies could potentially profit from their findings making the investment too risky.
However, the Turkey Tail Mushroom is the first medicinal mushroom that the FDA has funded for research in the fight against various types of cancer. Research shows that turkey tail mushrooms can help slow the spread of cancer cells, and when used in tandem with other traditional cancer treatments, improves survival rates.
But that’s not all. Turkey Tail Mushrooms are also well-researched and known to:
- Slow the aging process
- Support gut health
- Fight oxidative stress
- Prevent and aid in fighting cancer
- Manage inflammation
- Support the immune system
Myco-Biome uses only 100% certified organic mushrooms that are grown in Canada in old-growth forests and in clear-cut forests that have been rehabilitated. They are hand-harvested using age-old traditional techniques. This ensures that the environment is protected and that future generations can partake in their benefits.
Tincture VS Powder
A mushroom’s medicinal properties are most bioavailable (better absorbed) when they are extracted and dispensed via a tincture. They are easier to absorb because they don’t need to be digested, they are simply absorbed by the body.
Mushrooms in powder form need to be digested and this isn’t ideal in a pet with less than optimal health and digestion.
Testimonial – Nikki & Rua
“My dog has had a “wart” on her face since January. She is 8 years old and overall healthy (raw fed, only had puppy vaccines, no topical pesticides ever used, etc). Our holistic vet, Dr. Wanda Vockeroth, has been keeping an eye on it and we have tried Thuja as well as increased organ meat. The “wart” stopped growing in February and it doesn’t bother Rua but I thought I would try the Turkey Tail on her. She has been on your Turkey Tail for just over two weeks and it is HALF THE SIZE!! It is shrivelling up from the base and I am so excited.”
In Conclusion
As you can see I’m a big fan of Adored Beast’s products and the way they do business. I like to think of myself as an entrepreneur that operates in a similar manner!
Our pup’s started on the Turkey Tail Mushroom extract a few days ago and I’m excited to see the results!
