This past weekend I had the opportunity to be a part of a pet photography “brain trust”, if you will, of some of the world’s most talented and successful pet photographers. To say it was one of the best weekends of my life may be selling the experience a little short, but it definitely was! I was so honoured to have been invited to join this group on this retreat!

I am really not exaggerating when I say these were some of the loveliest ladies I have had the opportunity to get to know! Please go check out their websites; especially if you are in their area looking for a pet photographer!

Charlotte Reeves – Brisbane, Australia

Illona Haus – Kitchener-Waterloo, Canada

Kaylee Greer – Boston, USA

Sara Riddle – Northern Virginia, USA

Sarah Ernhart – Minneapolis / Saint Paul Minnesota, USA

Sarah McGraw – Charlotte, North Carolina, USA

We met in a historical chalet in the mountains of Poconos, Pennsylvania. Extremely picturesque there was no shortage of amazing views and ideal locations for our photo session meet ups.

We had two lovely dogs volunteer themselves to be photographed by us.

Roxy is a gorgeous shepherd mix from the SPCA who has a wonderful mom that drove her three hours to meet with us! This beautiful girl started out a little shy, but warmed up to all of the ladies by the end of her session. Isn’t she a beauty?

Finn is an extremely handsome bully breed mix who is a total natural at posing for the camera. His stunning good looks lent themselves to some fabulous images seen below. Thank you Finn for coming out and allowing us to capture you on “film”.

Other than lots of shooting, and LOTS of chatting, we really didn’t do much else! We are all leaving very tired, and happy to have met a group of new and amazing friends. Thanks ladies for having me!

WAIT! I would like to extend a special thank you to Merrick, the face of Scruffy Dog Photography, for working ENDLESSLY, ALL weekend modeling for us all. Merrick is one of the smartest and loveliest dogs I have ever met and he scaled mountains, tree stumps, fire hydrants, and even held a bouquet of flowers in his mouth for us (I will add a photo of this to my Facebook page in the next few days!)! We have collectively declared Merrick the most photographed dog in the world!

Merrick, I am sorry you left with so many of those little bloodsucking ticks, and hope you get lots of rest over the next few days. Please tell your mom, and Matea, I said hi!
