AWARDS & ACCREDITATION

Continuing Education

I believe that professional photographers should never stop learning! In fact, I invest every year in my education to learn more about business and honing my craft. Continuing education has been an integral part of my evolving business and style, and I have mentored under some of the best of the best including:

Certified Professional Photographer – CPP

In May 2019 I became the ONLY Certified Professional Photographer in Calgary! What the heck is a CPP you ask? From the Professional Photographers of America website: “The Certified Professional Photographer credential was started in 1977 as a way to identify professional photographers who have demonstrated technical competence through a written exam and photographic evaluation.”

A CPP is someone that goes above and beyond to rise above others in their field. As a client with valuable memories to capture, you can be assured that a CPP has professional knowledge and experience and that they go to great lengths to achieve and maintain a higher standard.

Accreditation

In 2020 I received my “Canine / Dog Portrait” accreditation from the Professional Photographers of Canada. In order to acquire this title I had to demonstrate professional ability to the Board of Examiners of the PPOC by submitting a series of ten images. To be accredited is to be recognized as an expert in a given field.

Certified Pet Food Nutrition Specialist

Although I have been active in the pet food industry for over a decade, it wasn’t until recently that I was able to find a pet nutrition certification worthy of striving for! In the past, I was only able to find courses that were either biased or based on old, outdated information. In January of 2018, I acquired my “Pet Food Nutrition Specialist” designation from DNM University! I plan to continue my studies with DNM University; I just have to decide which course to take next!

Photo Competition and Memberships

I am a member of the PPA (Professional Photographers of America) and earned the title of “Bronze Photographer of the Year” at the 2017 IPC (International Photographic Competition) with images taken at real-life, actual client photography sessions. (see photos above)
