It’s impossible to take in all the beauty that surrounds us on a daily basis. From the time we are young, and our responsibilities grow, we learn to tune it out.  We have to – it would overwhelm our senses and we wouldn’t get anything done!

I have been trying lately to open myself up and be inspired by the beauty I see in my everyday life. There are the many shades of blue that make up the sky and the fluffy textures in the clouds. There are the waves that the tall grasses make when the wind blows through the wheat fields. It’s all absolutely stunning.

Many things inspire me as a photographer, and watching other artists and the way they see things – it baffles me. They see beauty where others don’t, and they find a wonderful way, through their art, to show it to the rest of the world. I am in awe of it!

Photographer, Nathan Elson, he sees and uses light as naturally as we use letters to form words. He is able to use light like a paintbrush, and create beautiful photographs with what appears to be very little effort.

Photographers, Amanda Diaz and Brooke Shaden have the most vivid imaginations! They come up with such imaginative concepts and ideas; I am sure those ladies didn’t have people telling them to get their heads out of the clouds when they were growing up. I would love to have the talent to create new worlds like they do.

There are MANY photographers and artists that inspire me. It would not be possible to list them all. It is my hope that as my career progresses, my use of light, my imagination, and my storytelling abilities grow and become as second nature to me as typing these words is. And it is my greatest hope that all this will happen in a way that is unique and original to ME.
